Welcome Justin!

We are excited to announce that Justin Ahrens has joined the Chan Lab!

Brief bio: Justin is from Port Huron, Michigan and graduated from Wayne State University with a B.S. degree in Biochemistry and Chemical Biology. Justin’s undergraduate research mainly focused on synthesizing and characterizing octahedral Ir(III) Photosensors to monitor drug metabolism in the Cytochrome P450 active site under Dr. Jeremy J Kodanko. Justin enjoys going to sporting events, cooking, and hosting monthly game nights.

Justin is currently a chemical biology student pursuing his PhD in Chemistry. He is very excited to see what this next chapter in his chemistry journey holds for his future!
